The Happiness Formula

Be happy for this moment. This moment is your life  ~  Omar Khayyam

When Donna first contacted me she was desperately looking for a job. She constantly felt pressure form her family to find a career path and stick to it. She dreaded family dinners with her mom. Any chance her mother got, she would bombarded her with questions about her job search. After an interview Donna would make excuses, “The economy is poor and finding a job is a challenge for anyone. Especially for someone who has no experience”.

Whenever someone mentioned anything about work Donna would cringe with anxiety and frustration. She kept putting resume after resume out to potential employers but no one was getting back to her. Donna felt stuck and hopeless.

The truth was Donna was trying hard to find a job and get started in a career. But, Donna had negative mental associations. And she was completely blocking herself from manifesting the a career becaue of her fears.

This is the equation that I used to help Donna climb out of her thoughts of fear and into a place of happiness.

This equation should be done daily for at least 30 days to get the most benefit from it. I continue to complete this equation daily, even after years of study. So get ready to get closer to the Universe! Let’s increase your frequency. And, most importantly, let’s improve your happiness!

The Happiness Formula

Thank of an area in your life you would like to bring more happiness and joy to.

It might be your romantic relationships, your finances, or your health and fitness. It might be your self esteem or your career situation. Or , it could just be that you don’t feel ‘connected’ and something feels off about your life.

Choose just one area of your life that you want to work on and improve.

Whatever area you choose to focus on this happiness equation will help. This equation will help you remove your mental blocks, connect with the Universe, and receive more happiness. And, let’s be real, we could all use a little more joy and happiness.

Step 1. Reflect

The fist step to the happiness formula is to reflect on the area of your life that isn’t going so well.

Observe your feeling and thoughts surrounding this area and ask yourself the following questions:

How do I feel when I think about this area of my life? Am I avoiding something? Do I hold resentment towards someone? Does this feeling have a colour? Why am I so affected by this area of my life? Do I have a solution for this problem, do I feel stuck? Do I feel alone? Can I picture this are in clear detail, as if I was experiencing it right now?

Allow yourself to feel every emotion associated with this area of your life. Don’t try to resist or push out any of these feelings. Just reflect on them and slowly go through the above questions.

Before you move on to the next step take a moment to rate, on a scale of 1-10, how you are feeling.

Step 2. Meditate

The second step in the happiness equation is to meditate on these feelings of anxiety. This step will help you recognize that these feelings come from a place of fear. Recognize that they no longer have a place in your life.

Meditation is a time for you to acknowledge your ego and your fear and gently release them.

Follow along with the meditation below or just sit in silence and breath deeply for 10 minutes.

The key to a good meditation session is to not focus on any thoughts. As you have thoughts enter into your mind observe them, see them, and let them pass. Don’t focus on anything except light. Feel light pass through you and enjoy the peace it brings to your mind and body.

Step 3. Write

Immediately following your meditation get out a journal and write for 5 minutes.

Write down all the negativity that came out of your mediation. Write down all the positive feelings you felt. Just write. How would your rate your feelings, on a scale from 1-10, now?

Let all your Ego spill onto the page. And take this time to just get everything out.

While you write don’t edit yourself or think too much about what you are writing. The point of a write is to let your subconscious mind guide you in the direction you need to get. As well as push your doubt and fear out of your mind and onto the page.

Step 4. Ask

At the end of your write ask the Universe for exactly what you would like.

After a meditation and free write your mind is open and knowing. Right now, you are close to the Universe. Therefore, right now is the optimal time to make requests. Your mind is open enough that you can ask the Universe for what you want and believe that you will receive it.

Turn all those negative feelings into a positive outcome. Write down exactly what you want.

If you, like Donna, are looking for a new job write down all the things you are looking for in that job. What is your salary? Where is your office? How does your boss make you feel? What does your schedule look like?

Create the most specific, detailed outcome that you can. Write all this down until you can’t write anymore.

Ask the Universe for whatever you want and believe that it is true.

Step 5. Receive

Once you have asked the Universe for a solution you need to let it all go.

Just as you would not worry about the sun rising each morning, don’t worry about not receiving what you have asked the from Universe.

This equation takes practice. And you may feel silly the first time through your meditation. That is why the happiness equation is meant to be practised for 30 days in a row.

Once doubt or impatience enters your mind you have blocked yourself from receiving from the Universe.

It is natural to feel doubt, worry, and impatient near the beginning. As you work through your happiness equation steps you will begin to see it working. You will slowly start to feel lighter.

Furthermore, as you start to feel more open and one with the Universe, it will become easier to manifest. What may have taken you a year to manifest in the beginning will take you a month. Now that you have invested time in you happiness equation nothing can stand in your way.

There are no limits to this formula. The only limits are the ones set by yourself.

Furthermore, as you start to feel more open and one with the Universe it will become easier to manifest the things you desire. What may have taken you a year to manifest in the beginning will take you a month now that you have invested time in you happiness equation.
